Nike Sock Dart Part 2
The Sock Dart was the beginning of Nike’s exploration into circular knit and it all came from an unassuming kids sock.
Which got me thinking... Could I find another idea that was more “out there” that would incorporate the kids sock, be playful and still culturally understood? The gears start moving and clicking.
So I write, and write and think “what if this was specifically for kids?” Oooooh! I know a kids movie, where an unassuming sock plays a huge role and creates absolute mayhem. Can you guess already?
2319! “We’ve got a 2319!” Uh oh, here they come. Busting through the ceiling and descending down. The CDA (the Child Detection Agency) or “the yellow guys” definitely know how to make an entrance and their response rate is literally one second.
Even though George was an actual monster that visited kids at night and scared them into oblivion, I felt sorry for him. “Just because you bad guy, does not mean you bad guy.” You know? His partner couldn’t have just looked out for him? Just this once? And did they have to shave all his beautiful fur off? And the cone! My heart went out to him as a kid and it still does today.
I do hope he has returned to giving kids nightmares.
