Nike Air Force 1 "I Need Two Pair"
The Air Force 1 has many names, one of which is “Uptown,” named by the people of Harlem themselves. It is their way of staking their claim and establishing that the notoriety the shoe has is due to them.
This stamp references Nelly’s song “Air Force Ones,” where he says “Give me two pair, I need two pair. So I can get to stompin’ in my Air Force 1s, (Big boys!).” After listing the sneaker in every conceivable colorway, it was banned from MTV. Why? It was too close to an advert. The phrase alone is recognizable yet the stamp needed a finishing touch, Nelly’s signature plaster.
